Fabric

High-quality camping trolleys are typically made of 600D Oxford cloth, known for its tear resistance and water resistance. Ordinary camping trolleys, on the other hand, often use lighter nylon fabrics. Nylon is a lightweight textile and far less durable than Oxford cloth, making it prone to cracking when carrying heavy loads. Therefore, it's not recommended to buy trolleys made of nylon if you're carrying heavy loads.

The "D" in Oxford cloth refers to denier, a unit used to measure the density of textile fibers, expressed in grams as the weight of 9000 meters of fiber (i.e., the lower the denier, the finer the fiber). "D" also indicates the yarn count; a higher "D" means a coarser yarn, thicker fabric, and higher cost. Most Oxford cloth is made of synthetic fibers, which are indicated by "D". Furthermore, the larger the number before "D", the more expensive and durable the fabric.

Frame

The frame material is a crucial factor affecting the quality and price of a trolley. Common frame materials on the market include steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber. Steel frames are generally sturdy and inexpensive, but heavy. Aluminum frames are lighter and more robust, but relatively expensive. Carbon fiber frames are a lightweight option, but very costly and generally not recommended.

There are two frame manufacturing processes: welding and integral structure. An integral structure is more stable and less prone to breakage or detachment than welding.

Screw connections include standard nuts and bolts and rivets. Rivets are relatively more stable and safer, as the screws are not exposed, eliminating the risk of injury from accidental contact. However, if accidentally damaged, riveted structures are more difficult to disassemble.

Most camping strollers use the lower-cost welded structure or standard nuts and bolts, while high-quality strollers use an integral structure, ensuring greater quality.

  • Does it have external storage bags? Having external storage bags not only allows for moving more supplies, but also makes it convenient to access items from inside by opening the bags after the table is closed.
  • Rear-folding design. Campervans with a rear-folding design are better suited for storing camping supplies that extend beyond the campervan's storage area. If you have longer gear, it's recommended to choose a campervan with this feature.
  • Removable mesh: The mesh can be removed for easy cleaning.
